Majority Decision Explained: The Stance of the 8 Judges on Reserved Seats
Islamabad, The eight judges who delivered the majority ruling on the case concerning reserved seats have issued a detailed explanation regarding the implementation of their decision.
Clarification Requests Declared as Delaying Tactics
In their explanation, the judges criticized the Election Commission’s request for clarification, labeling it as a deliberate attempt to delay the implementation of the court’s decision. They argued that these requests were obstructive and invalid, noting that the Election Commission had previously acknowledged its stance through Barrister Gohar.
Election Commission’s Petition and Supreme Court’s Response
The Election Commission had sought further clarification from the Supreme Court regarding the inclusion of 41 members. The court’s decision pointed out that the Election Commission’s petition seemed to be an attempt to sow confusion. Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, who also submitted a petition, was noted in the court’s order dated July 12, which the judges reaffirmed as being clear and unambiguous.
